DREAMers!  You may be eligible to apply for a scholarship from TheDream.US.  Metropolitan State University of Denver is a Partner College of TheDream.US.  Based on financial need, the scholarship award will help you cover your tuition and fees to attend MSU Denver.  To qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

• Either graduate from high school or earn your GED diploma by the end of the 2019-2020 academic year or have already graduated or earned your GED diploma
• Have earned a high school unweighted GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or an equivalent GED score)
• Not have enrolled in an associate’s or bachelor’s degree program or have earned college credits (excluding credits earned while in a high school pre-college, dual enrollment program, advanced placement testing, or through the College Level Examination Program (CLEP)
• Intend to enroll full-time in an associate’s or bachelor’s degree program at one of TheDream.US Partner Colleges within one year of receiving the Scholarship
• Be eligible for in-state tuition if seeking to attend a Partner College that is a public institution
• Meet the Dream.US’ immigration eligibility criteria

This scholarship is also open to community college graduates who intend to seek a bachelor’s degree from one of TheDream.US Partner Colleges.

The MSU Denver Scholarship Foundation Application offers hundreds of privately funded scholarships to students every year, based on academics, achievement and financial need.  By applying, students are automatically considered for all scholarships for which they are eligible.  To qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

• A 250-500 word personal statement is required (See the application for details)
• Apply for admission and be accepted as a degree-seeking student to MSU Denver
• Must not be in default on any student loans, owe a refund or have received overpayments on any Federal, State, or institutional financial aid that have not been resolved
• Complete and submit the MSU Denver Scholarship Application
• Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Colorado Application for State Financial Aid (CASFA) for need-based scholarship consideration

The 2022-2023 Application opens December 2021!

RaiseMe is an online platform that helps 9–12th grade students prepare for college by earning scholarships for their achievements in high school.  Over 250 colleges and universities have partnered with RaiseMe (including MSU Denver), and award microscholarships for both academics and extracurricular activities.  RaiseMe is available to both high school and community college students.:

• The student must apply for admission to MSU Denver by July 31st.
• Minimum of 2.8 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for students interested in MSU Denver and must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours per term.
• Follow MSU Denver on your profile in order for your account to be connected to your financial aid award.
• The student must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or a Colorado Application for State Financial Aid (CASFA).
• High school students can raise a maximum award of $4,000 ($1,000 per year) toward their education at MSU Denver in an MSU Denver Earned Scholarship.

Deadline to raise microscholarship funds on RaiseMe is March 1st!

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund offers General College Scholarships that are designed to assist students of Hispanic heritage to obtain a college degree.  Scholarships are available, on a competitive basis to graduating high school seniors, community college transfer students, undergraduate students, and graduate students.  Awards are based on merit and award amount range from $500 to $5,000, based on relative need, among the Scholars selected.  To qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

• Must be of Hispanic heritage
• Minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for High School students
• Minimum of 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for College and Graduate students
• Plan to enroll Full-Time in an accredited, not-for-profit, 4-year university, or graduate school, during the FALL of a scholarship cycle (year)
• U.S. Citizen, Permanent Legal Resident, DACA or Eligible Non-Citizen (as defined by FAFSA)
• Complete FAFSA
• Complete state Dream Act financial aid application (if applicable)

• MSU Denver DREAMer Zone (Immigrant Services Program) – The Immigrant Services Program at MSU Denver has compiled a variety of resources for students, families, and educators on a variety of topics including Colorado residency, legal services, financial aid and more.
• Colorado ASSET –  Our financial aid site has information about Colorado ASSET, which allows eligible students without documentation to pay in-state, rather than out-of-state tuition, as well as receive the College Opportunity Fund stipend at Colorado public colleges.
• United We Dream (www.unitedwedream.org) – United We Dream is the largest immigrant youth-led organization in the nation. Our powerful nonpartisan network is made up of over 100,000 immigrant youth and allies and 55 affiliate organizations in 26 states. We organize and advocate for the dignity and fair treatment of immigrant youth and families, regardless of immigration status.
• Latin American Educational Foundation (www.laef.org) – LAEF is committed to providing Latin American students sufficient funding to our scholarship recipients to mitigate financial barriers during their quest for a college education; offer on-going support, both financial and otherwise, to our recipients throughout their college experience; and create awareness about educational opportunities for Hispanic students.
• MALDEF (www.maldef.org) – Founded in 1968, MALDEF is the nation’s leading Latino legal civil rights organization. Often described as the “law firm of the Latino community”, MALDEF promotes social change through advocacy, communications, community education, and litigation in the areas of education, employment, immigrant rights, and political access.
